- For every property we rent, we donate £5 of every month's rent to Yorkhill Children's Hospital.
Information for new tenants
Before you are able to rent a property with Edzell, you must provide us with the following: Deposit - value of one month rent of the property One month's rent
We also need to see the following ID documentation:
- Passport OR photographic driving licence OR certified birth certificate with additional Photo ID (eg. student card) AND
- Bank Statement AND
- confirmation of employment AND
- reference from previous landlord OR if your previous address was with a parent or guardian, a letter from that parent or guardian.
Once you have provided us with the deposit, first month's rent and ID documentation, we are able to hold your property for up to four weeks.
Housing Benefit
It is at the discretion of the landlord of the particular property whether or not to accept Housing Benefit as part or full payment of rent. Please contact a member of our lettings team for further information regarding the specific property.
Tenants Contents Insurance
We strongly recommend that all of our tenants have specialist contents insurance for the duration of their tenancy with Edzell. This is designed to protect you from accidental damange to your landlord's fixtures and fittings, such as carpets, windows and white goods. It also protects you from damage or theft of your own property. We have negotiated a highly competitive rate of £8.66 per month which is not available to members of the public. An emergency is defined only as a problem which occurs out of our office hours (Mon-Fri, 9am - 5pm) and which cannot wait until the office re-opens. Please note that in the event of a call-out being made which is not an emergency then the tenant will be responsible for paying a £25 call-out charge.
